I have been a fan of the idea of the Pepper Cannon from jump. It all started when I was 16 and a friend of mine introduced the idea of pouring generous amounts of pepper onto ketchup. It was delicious.
As I became a legal adult either spreading my wings and failing or flying, I got to do my own grocery shopping. I had zero idea there was more than one kind of pepper let alone freshly ground pepper was so much more potent than the pre-ground stuff in restaurants.
Since that point I've had 3 grinders before this was invented. The hand me down I got from a parent which didn't actually work, decent hammer though. The one that my wife (doesn't do the cooking and that's fine. I know who I married and she likes my style) thought was cute in some antique shop in the middle of small-town Texas. Lastly an electric grinder that constantly needed new batteries because it was the fastest and least painful option. I even used the coffee grinder once thinking I was a genius until I had the next batch of coffee...
Lo and behold, Cleve Oines thought of a new manual way of making that grind easier. I contributed on that Indiegogo campaign and not only didn't look back, I bought the travel one that I just got back from my brother in law. He used it for everything including peppering 20lb briskets.
Then this XL came out and I love the volume of the container, easier ergonomics, and the sheer volume (very coarse but not all the way) it dumps. The baseball cup doesn't need much of a turn…
