Solid with a little extra panache
I have the salt shaker and it’s great. The xl pepper is bigger but feels that little extra special. Bigger handle height and weight make a difference with the same strong mill

The XL Pepper Cannon produces extravagant quantities of fresh ground pepper slightly faster than the Original Pepper Cannon. Decrease the coarseness or crank less if you cannot handle the full power.
Ordinary mills can only grind pepper in the 12-28 mesh size range. The XL Pepper Cannon can grind from 6 (cracked) to over 60 (extra fine). It can grind coarse enough for stocks and roast beef, and finer than the pre-ground pepper you have been forced to buy because your mill wasn’t up to the task. A double-bearing supported drive shaft that powers high-carbon stainless steel burrs ensure you get the best grind, every time.
REASON 1: 50% more capacity. The XL Pepper Cannon holds 3/4 cup of peppercorns, compared to 1/2 cup capacity of the original Pepper Cannon. Do you need more capacity? Only if you're refilling your mill twice a month or more.
REASON 2: Restaurants with table-side pepper grinding can now dust your dish in a dash without dangling their digits over your Ditalini.
The diameter of the XL Pepper Cannon top is increased make the Fastest Pepper Cannon ALSO the easiest to turn.
The XL Pepper Cannon top also fits the original Pepper Cannon (2022 and newer), and vice versa.

Finally a pepper cannon which works
I watch a lot of food content on YouTube, and I've seen a number of content creators using the Pepper Cannon and talking about how amazing it is. When I first looked at it and saw the price, I thought the prospect of spending $200 or $250 on a Peppermill was absolutely bonkers. Don't get me wrong, I love high quality things, and my kitchen is full of high-end cookware and small appliances. Would less expensive pots, pans, blenders, coffee makers, pepper mills, etc. do the same jobs adequately? Of course. But there's something special about the look and feel of very high quality items that reinforces the relationship with the thing those items are used for. I have a Cole & Mason peppermill, and it works perfectly fine and it's a good quality product. But holy cow, the Pepper Cannon is in a completely different category. I decided to go with the XL, because I'm a taller guy with large hands and it seemed like it would be more comfortable. That was absolutely the right choice. I'm not sure why the product listing says it's for restaurants and commercial settings. It's nicely sized for the home kitchen. The larger cap is very comfortable to use. Am I going to say everybody needs a Pepper Cannon? No, of course not. But I will definitely say there are some of you out there who will definitely appreciate the Pepper Cannon, and you know who you are😉
You definitely get what you pay for. My expectations were very high, but the results exceeded those expectations.
As they published. “it is a cannon” a lo of pepper. It is a beautiful peace of Enginering
