The perfect companion to the Pepper Cannon. Season generously with crunchy chunks or dust with invisible powder (plus everything in between).
When I launched the Pepper Cannon, people asked for a matching salt mill.
"NO", I said.
Then, like a fool I continued: "inside each salt crystal is… more salt! It doesn’t have any added flavor/aroma qualities that are improved by grinding, and it doesn’t degrade like pepper when pre-ground."
I made my case for why willing customers shouldn't want what they want, but they persisted. Fine. "If more than 300 people preorder it, we'll make it."
Surely there are no more than 72 people who want a Salt Cannon companion for their Pepper Cannon...
The list of people quickly exceeded 300, and so the process began. I expected we would swap out the burrs and turn it around within months, and we did!
17 months.
We tested burrs, coatings, bearings, metals, and the patience of many more than 72 people before producing a mill that can grind through over 200lbs of rock salt without appreciable performance loss.
The Salt Cannon has settings on both ends of the grind spectrum that probably don't need to exist. Do you need tiny amounts of fine pixie dust salt particles? Probably not. Do you need giant chunks of rock salt dispensed at nearly a tablespoon per crank? Almost certainly not. That's irresponsible. And yet, if you own the Salt Cannon you can have them.
Was making the grind range so large overkill for salt?
Absolutely.
But we have the Pepper Cannon, so overkill is probably just the right amount of kill for us
Don't worry: output decreases with grind size, so you can get the exact amount of salt you want at the desired consistency.

I got the Salt Cannon to go with my Pepper Cannon, not expecting to use it much. However, I have found it to be very handy, and it works as well as the Pepper Cannon.
Salt Cannon works every bit as well as the pepper cannon. They also look stunning paired in the kitchen!
Both are excellent.
